Although the collection was still in transition for tomorrow’s official public opening the Press had a chance to listen to Ms. Mary Wilson’s story and view some of the 30+ gowns, archival images, album covers and rare video footage.
The “Come See About Me: The Mary Wilson Supremes Collection” exhibit will be showing at The African American Museum In Philadelphia until June 30, 2013.
ALSO THURSDAY, JANUARY 31st – Motown Karaoke Party, 7-10pm. The African American Museum will be kicking off this new exhibit, Come See About Me: The Mary Wilson Supremes Collection Presented by PNC Arts Alive, with a full-throated, hand-clapping, sequined glove-wearing, all out karaoke party. They’ll have a deep songbook of Motown’s best-originals and remakes- for you to sing, plus light refreshments and ticketed beverages provided. There will be prizes!
