The Union’s aim is to have a positive impact with respect to the children’s character development, academic performance and physical well-being.  Philadelphia was awarded the league’s 16th team on February 28, 2008. A public/private partnership between Philadelphia Union, the State of Pennsylvania, Delaware County and the City of Chester enabled the construction of PPL Park on the banks of the Delaware River at the foot of the Commodore Barry Bridge. The Union is proud to call Chester home.
