RITTENHOUSE | “L TEXTILE”
ART ALLIANCE. Friday, Krista Butvydas Bard, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania, hosted the opening exhibition of “L TEXTILE” featuring for the first time in the United States the contemporary work of eight international award-winning Lithuanian textile artists.
Sure you might have to have the oratory skills of Demosthenes to pronounce the names of the Artists but the techniques are fantastic you must stop by for the exhibition of “L TEXTILE” .
Sabrina Gschwandtner’s “Sunshine and Shadow” is very intense you could spend hours trying to decipher the tiny, incrementally changing images made out of 16mm strips of film that has been retrieved from educational documentaries.
Support for the Philadelphia Art Alliance is provided by the Samuel S. Fels Fund, the Avery Foundation, the Rittenhouse Foundation, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, Saks Fifth Avenue, and members of the PAA.
