THE CORNER 6TH & RACE STREETS. Franklin Square’s newest rendition, The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival, looks good in the daytime but fantastic in the evening.

For the next seven weeks (April 22 to June 12) appearing for the first time in the northeast United States Franklin Square will showcase 25 larger-than-life, illuminated displays of blossoming flowers, a three-story pagoda, a giant Chinese dragon and other interesting items.

The park will be open at 6th and Race streets from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are required at nighttime.
