Oct 14, 2017 Cure Duchenne’s 4th Annual Blingo 2017

CENTER CITY.  A great Saturday evening at The Westin Philadelphia with socially minded families, friends and community leaders coming together for the annual “BLINGO to Cure Duchenne” event.

THE WESTIN PHILADELPHIA  |  Geno Vento, Dr. Jen Caudle, Kathy Romano, Gov. Ed Rendell, Tra Thomas (Former Philadelphia Eagle)

Duchenne “is a fatal genetic disease that causes muscle degeneration that impacts 1 in every 3,500 boys. Boys are usually diagnosed by age 5, lose their ability to walk by 12 and most don’t survive their mid-20s. The disorder knows no ethnic or social boundaries. Research funded by CureDuchenne, a Duchenne Charity, is providing real hope, and hopefully soon real treatments, to improve and save lives of these young boys.”

Duchenne is “the most common and severe form of muscular dystrophy. Those affected with Duchenne lose their ability to walk, feed themselves, breath independently and succumb to heart failure. But there’s hope through new pharmacological and gene-based therapies. You can help make a difference.”  To get more information please go the the CureDuchenne website.
