THE BARNES FOUNDATION. FRIDAY. The young professionals of the Barnes Foundation met up for a for a high-energy, low-key night celebrating art, queerness, and the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Listening to classic hip-hop and R&B tunes commemorating half a century of one of the most influential genres of music.

A fun night catching a dance cypher by some of Philly’s finest breakdancers; and celebrating a tiny queerness in modern art with a dazzling drag performance.

 FASHION TOUCHDOWN 2023.


Last night.  FASHION TOUCHDOWN 2023.  An amazing night after laying low for three years.  Over 700 guests showed up to raise $340,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence. The big event was at the 2300 Arena (in South Philly).

Attending Philadelphia Eagles players including Boston Scott, Darius Slay, James Bradberry, Josh Jobe (former BBBS Little), and Haason Reddick were on deck

Former Eagles players also joined in on the action including Brian Westbrook, Mike Mamula, and Vinny Curry (former BBBS Big). Other notable people in attendance included Greg Ward, Hollis Thomas, Charlie Mack, and many others. 

Domenico DiSandro was honored with the Igniting Potential Award at this year’s Fashion Touchdown. “Big Dom” has been with the Eagles organization since 1999 and serves as the senior advisor to the General Manager.

“This award is about people seeing the greatness of what Dom has helped the Eagles to build and accomplish for almost 25 years, not just to the sport but also to people who need a mentor and guidance. It helps us lift up the power of mentoring,” said Marcus Allen, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence.

BEST OF STYLE 2023! 


Last night at the Kimmel Center, Philadelphia Style had a fantastic BEST OF STYLE 2023! celebration. Amazing entertainment, 30 of Philadelphia’s greatest restaurants, over 100 specialty drinks, a casino area (sponsored by CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT), and watching the EAGLES  🦅 game broadcast live throughout the party—it was a delight.

Very informative event last night Global Philadelphia members met and got to know new candidates for the upcoming city council nominations. Each candidate gave a few moments to speak to the audience about their campaign.

A few weeks ago The Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia threw a party to celebrate its 25th anniversary.  Hundreds of VIP guests attended and were entertained by Boyz II Men.

Hard Rock Philadelphia marked 25 years at its iconic location on Market Street, with a lavish celebratory event commemorating the brand’s milestone in one of America’s largest and most visited metropolitan cities, along with the positive impact Hard Rock Cafe has made in the Philadelphia market over the past decade and a half.

Hard Rock Cafe ’s Philadelphia location first opened on January 15, 1998, creating a staple landmark east of Broad Street and continues to be a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, and a key community partner supporting non-profit organizations, local artists, and more throughout the city.

The event featured a private performance by Philadelphia’s-own, Boyz II Men and a Mayoral proclamation by city representative, Sheila Hess highlighting the continued significance of Hard Rock Cafe ’s role in the city of Philadelphia.

The Down North Treehouse is a non-profit working to provide a free, post-secondary education experience to underprivileged Philadelphia youth. The Treehouse aims to divert their students from the school-to-prison pipeline, empowering them to find purposeful and financially rewarding careers in the tech sector. 

“Located in Strawberry Mansion, the Treehouse will focus on engaging, educating, and supporting local youth through the democratization of space and technology. Our facility will be equipped to help our students imagine and build the next generation of tech. The Treehouse will host interactive spaces focusing on instruction in a variety of tech fields, including a coding camp, graphic design, gaming, video production and cyber security.

The initial round of fundraising for the Treehouse will be used to rehabilitate and prepare our future home in a building that has been generously donated by the City of Philadelphia. Additionally, we will cultivate our specific programming, and establish a testing environment for implementation.”
