2200 WALNUT STREET FRIDAY.  It was a great opportunity to meet the design team and board members of Friends of the Rail Park. The elegant crowd enjoyed hors d’oeurves and wine courtesy of Tria.

The event included comments and presentations from Michael Garden (CITYSPACE), Hilary Jay (DesignPhiladelphia), Beth Miller (Community Design Collaborative), Leah Murphy (Friends of the Rail Park) and Richard Roark (OLIN) as well as interior and exterior Animated Architecture video mapping projections curated by Sean Stoops.

The DesignPhiladelphia Closing Party: A Fundraiser for Friends of the Rail Park, was held in an 1880’s Addison Hutton designed mansion that is now home to the real estate firm CITYSPACE. Hosted by Michael Garden, the evening offered a reception and presentation of conceptual plans and drawings illustrating a vision for a 4-block section of the proposed Rail Park that were produced through a Community Design Collaborative grant by designers from OLIN, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, CVM and VJ Associates.

This event was sponsored by Gilmore & Associates and hosted by Michael Garden of CITYSPACE in collaboration with Wendy Verna of Octo Design Group.  All proceeds will benefit Friends of the Rail Park and support the vision of a three-mile linear park through center city and connecting diverse neighborhoods and institutions, supported by various advocacy groups.
